About Tina -
Tina Sicuranzo has always loved watercolors. As a young girl she was awed by the spontaneity of it and the pencil lines against the crisp white paper. Los Angeles County’s San Gabriel Valley where she grew up afforded her opportunities to enjoy museums, botanical gardens and all things artistic. When she saw her first Ansel Adams exhibit, she was hooked on photography, no doubt aided by her parents who made photo magic out of a makeshift darkroom. Tina continued exploring various arts and crafts, in between work and family relocating to Lake Havasu City in 1988. She and her husband enrolled in the Photography program at MCC culminating in Tina earning a Certificate in Photography. She also attended workshops in Calligraphy from Barbara Close and when Tina took Barbara’s Watercolor Calligraphy workshop, she knew that someday she would paint watercolors. Attending a local decorative painting class led her to join Lake Havasu Decorative Artists and the Society of Decorative Painters. She attended several workshops by national painters. In 2002 MCC offered a watercolor class and she promptly enrolled and continued to take classes with Barbara Bradley. Later she took watercolor classes with Will Dwiggins and KJ Todd. Along with other art classes at the college she has attended nationally known watercolor teacher Betty Carr’s workshops. In 2017 Tina began taking acrylic painting classes with Pam Reinke. Tina’s love of photography continues but more often now her photos provide inspiration for her paintings which covers a wide range of subjects. As a member of the Lake Havasu Art Guild, Tina’s work has been shown at their various venues throughout the city. She usually enters the annual juried Spring Show and in 2017 she received an Award of Merit in Water Media; in 2015 Tina received Third Place in Photography; in 2014 Tina received Second Place in Water Media; in 2011 Tina received Second Place in Water Media and First Place in Photography; in 2009 she received an Award of Merit in Water Media; in 2008 she received a Second Place in Photography; and in 2007 she received an Award of Merit in Water Media and Third Place in Photography.
