About John -
John West moved to Arizona in 2004 and to Lake Havasu City in 2008. Prior to 2004 John retired from a 36 year railroad career in Utah, Virginia and WV then moved to the Grand Canyon working as a tour guide, etc. John has been a volunteer with Bill Williams River & Havasu National Wildlife Refuges since 2009. His Northern Pintail photo is used in the logo of the Friends of the Bill Williams River and Havasu National Wildlife Refuges.
Many of John’s bird photos have been published in Lake Havasu’s Daily Herald Newspaper. He was Artist of the Month at the John Wesley Powell Museum in Page, AZ for the month of April 2013 where he displayed landscape and wildlife photography in metal, canvas and prints.
John’s photography is currently featured in two USF&Wbirding brochures; National Park Service wildlife displays; and, in the past, a Arizona Game and Fish calendar; and has been published in Wooden Boats Magazine, 2023..
John is the creator, curator, & caretaker of the PimaWash Rock Garden along the Pima Wash trail and has been featured in the Daily Herald and RiverScenes Magazine.
