About Sheridan -
Born the middle child of 5 girls and raised in San Diego East County on a farm. Married in 1979 and while raising our young family I would sometimes sketch with a #2 pencil, but rarely.
Moving to LHC in 2014 and having more freetime, I found a few of my sketches tucked away in a drawer. Deciding to take a leap and signed up for a Beginning Drawing Class at MCC. Coming away from this experience learning that there are NO mistakes, Make It Your Own and an Attention to Detail.
In reviewing my portfolio’s, it’s encouraging to see improvement these 8 years. Finding I’m drawn to whimsical and the silliness in women, lovely ladies, young and old. Mostly using Faber Castell colored pencil but dabbling in oil pastels lately.
We enjoy traveling and looking for small art studios in small towns. The talent and different mediums used are incredible and humbling.
I’ve been fortunate to have 2 friends who have put my artwork on mugs, stationary and totes for me and have tried to keep my costs down.
I refer to my art drawings as“therapy.” Listening to Christian Rock and Roll through my Blue tooth hearing aids sends me into “The Zone.”
