About Melanie: 

Even as young as eight years old I always had a fascination with glass. When I would go to Disneyland with my family, I would stand in the glass shop on Main Street in a trance, while watching the glass blower as he made crystal and glass figurines.

As an adult I moved to the central coast of California in an artist inspired environment.  Still wanting to work with glass I decided to take classes at one of the local glass shops and my fascination turned into a reality.  Since I was working full time, my glass making at that time was only a hobby.

Since retiring and moving to Lake Havasu it has become much more. I joined the Havasu Art Guild and entered the juried show each year which has resulted in many awards. My work is featured at the Havasu Art Center and in many commercial businesses around town. I have also installed several custom pieces in Havasu residences as well as in Tucson.

Working with glass continues to be fascinating to me as the possibilities of design, shape, color, and size are unlimited.
