When I started working with resin 4 years ago, I never realized it would have such an influence on my life. Creating items for others to enjoy is always fun and highly satisfying. In the last year I have designed (and donated) a coaster gift for the attendees of the Hav-A-Sis Heroes in Heels event, created little gifts for the students in my exercise classes—in spring it was a sun catcher coaster and at Christmas, it was a cute3” high Christmas tree! Most recently it was a gift for the exiting DKG,Alpha Chi President. Surprising someone with a one-of-a-kind gift is a great feeling!
These days I concentrate on more mixed media items, like resin on cutting boards, lazy susan’s, and bamboo trays. I am perfecting my skills with the 3D resin flower bloom technique, and pouring resin on clear vases to create interesting works of art. Resin is still always an adventure! It moves to the beat of its own drum. I am just a guide and sometimes it turns out really good and sometimes it is a “dud,” but I see those as an opportunity to create “over!”
