When I retired, I had no idea what I was going to do to fill my time with nowhere to be for the weeks ahead. So I took a stained glass class to see if that would be of interest to me. Through the stained glass class I was introduced to glass fusing. We went with no knowledge about glass fusing to the Las Vegas Glass Expo and there we were introduced to a whole new world.
Taking classes and talking to some of the best glass fusers at the Expo was exciting, giving us the opportunity to learn different techniques to experiment with glass. Also, we had the opportunity to take classes at the Community College in Santa Barbara. There we met students that have had years of glass fusing experience.
We now have been experimenting with glass for about twenty plus years and still have so much to learn. It seems like the time has passed go quickly, but I am grateful that I was introduced to glass fusing and all the opportunities that it has given me in using my artistic side and all the interesting people that I have met thru the years.
