About Barbara -

I'm a mother of 2, grandmother of 5 and great grandmother of 1 but none of them live close, so I have lots of time to play.  My wonderful husband helps around the house and with my projects, sometimes building me tools.  I have been an artist and a maker my whole life but when I discovered the wonders of polymer clay, almost 20years ago, while watching a craft show on TV, it was instant love.  Polymer clay is a man-made modeling compound that bakes a a low temperature, so no special equipment is required.  I'm self taught and continuously search for new techniques in books, magazines, online and with lots of experimentation.  In recent years it has become an acceptable fine art medium with major museum shows increasing every year. Handmade polymer clay beads were my primary focus when I started but I've branched out into all types of accessories and other fun stuff.  A few years ago I realized that I could make paper beads while traveling cross county.  My paper bead jewelry, with some unique beads, has become popular.  I also supply just the loose beads, both polymer clay and paper, to other artists all over the country.    A dedicated studio in my home allows me to create and occasionally teach. I've been active in the Havasu Art Guild for over a decade and have held several offices. I also have quite a few ribbons from the Havasu Art Guild's fine art shows.   Please feel free to contact me with any questions, to shop or tour of my studio.
